For the past 70 years the Society for Disabled Children has helped thousands of children with disabilities in Kern County. We are a private non-profit organization that recieves its funding from our local community partners and individuals. The proceeds from the Easter Basket Eggs-Travaganza will make it possible to continue our tradition of helping children with disabilities in Kern County. We offer many programs, activities and services, such as Camp Blue Jay, S.T.A.R. (Student Tutoring and Reading Program), The GROW-Ability Garden Project, Speech Therapy, Medical Equipment, Transportation Assistance, and Social Activities. The children are given opportunities to experience the joys of childhood and parents are at ease knowing that at the Society for Disabled Children, cost is never a barrier to a child receiving services.
